Electric Meter Base Installation in Athens, TX & East Texas

Overhead and underground meter base installs — getting power to your new build, safely and on schedule.

What is Electric Hook-Up?

Before your home or job site can have power, the utility needs something to connect to — a meter base, properly mounted, properly grounded, properly tied to the panel. Fletcher Septic & Utilities handles meter base installation for new builds across Henderson County and East Texas, in coordination with your utility provider’s service requirements.

We do both overhead drops (utility pole to mast head) and underground services (utility transformer to buried conduit). We coordinate with the utility on scheduling, meet their inspection requirements, and leave you ready for power-on.

FAQ

Do I need an electrician for a meter base?

The meter base, service mast, and service entrance are within scope for licensed installers like us, working to utility spec. Once power is on, a licensed electrician handles the panel-side wiring inside the home. We coordinate so the handoff is clean.

Underground is more aesthetic and protected from weather, but more expensive (trenching + conduit). Overhead is faster and cheaper. The utility often dictates which is allowed at your specific service location.

Once the meter base passes utility inspection, energization usually happens within a few business days. Total project time depends on utility scheduling more than on us.

Yes — and we recommend it. Sequencing all the trenching together saves time and avoids tearing up the same ground twice.
